Make no mistake about it, we are living in prophetic times predicted in the Bible thousands of years ago.  There have been over 700 New Testament prophecies proclaimed in the Bible with approximately 500 having been fulfilled.  This proves the Bible was Divinely inspired.  The next prophetic event is the "catching up of Believers in the clouds to meet the LORD." (1 Thessalonians  4:16 among other passages).  The term Rapture is often used to describe this event but there is debate if the word Rapture itself appears in the Bible.  There is conclusive evidence (pre Trib viewpoint) this event happens before the final 7 year period of human history referred to as the Tribulation or "Jacob's Trouble". This period in time is Israel's final chance to realize their Savior. It's described in Daniel 9:27 and Revelation chapters 6 through 19.  The big question is when the Rapture will happen. Based on Hosea 6:2 and other passages,  it could happen any time but no later than 2030.

There is a coming invasion of Israel as described in Ezekiel 38 and 39.  The first countries mentioned to go in are Ethiopia, Libya, Iran, Russia (Magog) and Turkey. Other countries will follow.  Why do all of these countries hate Israel?  It goes back thousands of years with Abraham and Sarah.  God had promised them a son  However, after 25 years and advancing in age with no results, the couple devised a plan contrary to God's plans.  Abraham conceived a child with the the young and attractive maid servant named Hagar.  The son was named Ishmael was born and his descendants  comprise the Arab world today. The true son of promise for Abraham and Sarah was born later named Isaac.   Although the two boys never got along then, their descendants continued on with the hatred even today with world peace in the balance. 

When the invasion happens and it looks hopeless for Israel, there will be Devine intervention and the enemies will be destroyed. This is not however, The Battle ( rather enemy annihilation) of Armageddon as described in Revelation 19.  The timing of the invasion described In Ezekiel will happen around the time of the Rapture but it's unclear if it is before or after the Rapture.  I lean towards the Rapture happening before the invasion.  It's likely there will be a time gap between the Rapture and Tribulation. It appears the United States will not be a major player in the end.  The major geographical areas' described in the Bible are Europe and Asia Minor.
